Internships are unpaid. Interns should be able to commit 10 to 20 hours per week, on average. The exact dates of the internship will depend on each applicant’s availability.
Job Profile:
This is an entry-level unpaid internship with great benefits. The role will entail working alongside the editor to find stories, research, write content, edit, fact check and proofread articles for our website ConvergeMagazine.com as well as Converge’s College Guide printed each Fall.
Role and responsibilities:
- Conduct background research for articles and editorial content
- Find and pitch stories best suited for targeted audiences
- Write, revise, edit and proofread copy for submission
- Collaborate with Editor and other writers to verify the correctness and accuracy of materials prior to publication.
- Conduct short interviews as necessary
- Contribute to social media
- Help out at concerts, festivals and other events as necessary
Education and Experience:
University degree in English, Communications, or Journalism. Publication writing experience an asset. Individuals with other educational backgrounds who can demonstrate excellent writing and editing skills may also apply for this role. Basic computing skills are also required.

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills-Knowledge of basic grammar, punctuation, and spelling
- Good attention to detail
- Sound judgment and a strong sense of ethics
- Ability to work under pressure and with tight deadlines
